My Hair Care Routine

I always feel like having soft and shiny hair comes with a big price nowadays, and it can be hard to find products that work wonders for your hair whilst not breaking the bank at the same time. Well, look no further, cos I think I've found the ultimate hair care bits that can be bought from the drugstore at a super reasonable price, and have allowed me to maintain my perfect 'hair care routine'. These are the products that I seem to be going back to time and time again, just because they are super reliable and can be purchased more than once at a cheap and cheerful price. So, today I'll be going through all of the products that work wonders for my naturally dry and frizzy hair, and how you too can create your perfect hair routine by discovering what products work best for you.

So, first lets talk shampoo and conditioner. I cannot tell you how many shampoo and conditioners I've had to get through to finally find the perfect match for my hair. As my hair is quite short, yet extremely thick and therefore very dry and frizzy at times, its been hard to find that balance of nourishment and shine, cos most of the time my hair ends up just looking like an oily mess. However, when I spotted that the Garnier Hair products, in particular the shampoo and conditioners, were on offer in Boots, I didn't hesitate to give them a go, as I've heard a lot of great reviews from other beauty bloggers in the past about Garnier's amazing hair care range. The ones that I picked up were the Ultimate Blends 'Coconut Oil and Cacao Butter' shampoo and conditioner, which claimed to 'smooth and nourish dry and frizzy hair', so immediately I was drawn to it. The fact that it had coconut and cacao in it also made it sound very inviting, as I could tell it would smell absolutely delicious.. and spoiler alert, it does!

And from that day onwards, that exact shampoo and conditioner has been literally the only one I've purchased and swore by ever since. And thats mainly down to the fact that it ACTUALLY does everything it says on the bottle! It makes my hair so so soft and shiny without looking greasy. The scent, as I said, is also mouth-wateringly delicious and you get a lot of product in the bottle, which is perfect as you don't have to be dashing back to the shops every month to get a new one. And for a super cheap price of only £3.99, it would be hard to say no!

The great thing about the Garnier hair care range as well is that they have a wide range of different types of products to suit your hair type, all with different scents and ingredients to help your hair look its best. Thats why I would advise looking at the bottom of the bottle where it says what hair type the shampoo/conditioner is suited for, and what benefits it will have. That way, you can know exactly what the product does and if it will benefit your hair in any way.

So after I've shampooed my hair, I like to follow with a hair mask, especially if I'm having a bit of a pamper night or my hair is drier than usual and needs a bit of a pick me up. The one that I've been using pretty much non-stop for a while now is the Lee Stafford 'Hair that Never Grows Past a Certain Length Treatment'. I initially bought this hair mask when I was trying to grow my hair out, however now I just use it for moisturising and nourishing purposes. I only use it once or twice a week if needed, and all I do is pop a large dollop of the treatment from the roots to the ends of my hair when its still damp, making sure it covers the majority of my hair and scalp. I'd also like to note that this would be the perfect opportunity to give yourself a little head massage whist rubbing in the product, which may sound a bit weird, but I find it very beneficial and relaxing, especially if your giving yourself a bit of a pamper. Then I leave it on for 5 mins, which usually turns into 20 mins as this is my opportunity to sing and dance around to whatever Spotify playlist I have on in the shower, which is usually Beyonce or the Dreamgirls soundtrack! I then jump back in the shower, rinse it off, and then apply my conditioner, and honestly, you can really feel the difference of your hair once its been rinsed off, like it becomes so soft and weightless, and that combined with the Garnier conditioner makes you feel like you're on your way to becoming a real life Disney princess.

Lastly, I wanted to talk about the method I use when I can't be bothered to go through the time and effort of washing my hair, which is simply spraying a bit of the COLAB Paris Dry Shampoo in my roots. This gives your hair an instant boost of volume, and ultimately makes it a lot more fresh and manageable than it was before. Not to mention it also has the nicest floral scent to it, and as you can tell I'm a big lover of scented products, so this dry shampoo has been the only one  I've been using on a go-to basis.

And there you have it, my current hair care routine! I hope you have gained some tips and tricks from this post and a better understanding of what products to use for your particular hair type. Let me know if you've tried any of the Garnier hair care products in the comments!

Love, Jess x
